Beoga: A Lovely Madness

$17.98

“...marvelous energy...a wonderful, wonderful album.”

- BILL MARGESON, IRISH AMERICAN NEWS

"Madcap genius... Beoga's music has the authority of master craftsmen, unafraid to take chances and walk on traditional music's wild side... they are injecting raw adrenaline into the tradition."

- JOHN O’REGAN, IRISH MUSIC MAGAZINE

"I thoroughly enjoyed "A Lovely Madness" by Beoga, an Irish word meaning "lively" or "vivid." Their CD debut is both, making them a band to watch."

- EARLE HITCHNER, THE IRISH ECHO

I had more fun listening to this CD than any that has crossed my desk in many a year. Beoga are excellent musicians that are unafraid to take the more interesting path... a stunner!

-CINDY REICH, THE CELTIC CONNECTION

"This CD goes beyond excellence into the heart of what it means to be a creative artist. If you like and appreciate good music, any music, you will not regret buying this CD."

-NIALL KEEGAN, IRISH WORLD MUSIC CENTRE

The band originally released their debut album “A Lovely Madness” in September 2004, to critical and popular acclaim in Ireland, Europe and America. While the bedrock of Beoga’s music lies firmly within the Irish tradition, they are not afraid to incorporate other genres’ nuances into their music. From bluesy riffs inspired by gigging in Amsterdam (“Amsterdam Blues”) to a jazzy jig (“Funk”), their music always returns to a wonderfully bouncy traditional sound. With a repertoire of fresh self-penned tunes and inventive arrangements, their debut album A Lovely Madness has earned a 9/10 in Ireland’s Hot Press magazine and was in their list of Top Trad/Folk Albums of the year.
