For more than 20 years, I have nurtured the dream of performing and recording my music with a symphony orchestra - to fill my music with the grandeur, power and richness of detail that only an orchestra can create. With the music of SKYLINE FIREDANCE, this dream is at last fulfilled, and it represents one of my most satisfying moments as a musician and a composer.

In much of my past work, I have drawn from my personal thoughts and feelings about relationships and about nature. By doing so, I hope I have encouraged listeners to experience their inner feelings and to listen to their hearts.

With the power of this orchestral interpretation of SKYLINE FIREDANCE, I am now urging people to act upon what they have learned. All of humanity and the beautiful planet we all share will face demanding challenges in the decades ahead, and we can all expect to experience tremendous changes as we progress through them.

While our thoughts and feelings remain important, I also believe that the time has come for each of us to actively pursue our dreams. We must work together, as vigorously and harmoniously as an orchestra, toward the common goal of a brighter future. This music expresses my belief that the time for us to take action - to act responsibly toward fellow humans, toward our environment and toward our global community - is now.

The Solo Works
The music of SKYLINE FIREDANCE first took life at the piano - a remarkable instrument that has fascinated me since my childhood. As I have grown with it through the years and have become more intimately acquainted with its subtle charms, I feel that of all instruments, the piano is the most divinely inspired.

The piano incorporates almost the entire dynamic range of an orchestra. While composing this body of music, I felt drawn to work with more of the piano's bolder, more extroverted colors. As my concern for humanity's collective well-being has grown, my approach to composing has evolved from what I call my "water phase" into a "fire phase," where my music takes on more forceful, emphatic characteristics.

It is my wish that, through our individual actions, we all contribute our energy to making the changes that are necessary to bring about a brighter tomorrow. I regard this music as a call to action.

At the same time, this interpretation of SKYLINE FIREDANCE, in the form of the original piano solos, is a reminder that grand dreams begin on a personal level - in our hearts. As you listen, imagine you are in a magnificent concert hall, but the orchestra has gone home. The hall is empty except for the piano... and you and I.
